Hush! Those Can't Be Hush Puppies!

When I was a child my dad wore Hush Puppies. I'm sure they were very comfortable shoes, but as I recall in terms of  style they were pretty abysmal. They seemed to only exist in suede or a suede-like fabric, and most seemed to be of the slip-on variety. I was recently cruising the Schuh website and a pair of shoes caught my eye. When I saw the name of the manufacturer I was stunned. Hush Puppies?!? All I could think was "these are not my dad's Hush Puppies"...
